Makeup Remover.jpg

I am nearing my forties and women my age are slowly starting to give their skin the attention it needs and we all know that choosing a mineral-rich, organic cosmetic product may help support healthy, youthful-looking skin, but removing them is a pain in the rear.

I’ve spent years using over the counter wipes that burnt my face, dehydrated my skin, and didn’t do the job. Instead it clogged my pores even more.

I have been making my own make-up remover pads for the past two years and have been gifting them to my friends and family and they are hooked! In fact, it saved me a lot of money so I’m sharing it with you. From one mama to another.

Gather all your ingredients:30-40 organic cotton make-up pads, whisk, 1Tbsp measuring spoon,1 glass cup, water, organic coconut oil, witch hazel. Why witch hazel you ask? Specifically, I chose rose petal witch hazel because it tightens pores, controlling oil production, lock moisture in, and keeping free radicals out. Rose petals are also full of Vitamin C, which is crucial for collagen production, strengthening skin cells, and fading blemishes and scars.

Measure 1/2 cup of water, boil or make steep hot in microwave. Measure 1 Tbsp of coconut oil and 1 Tbsp of witch hazel of your choice. Use whisk to mix then leave on counter to cool for about 10 minutes.

Get any glass or jar container that you can seal and fill with 30-40 cotton pads. Gently pour over the mixture and seal. Flip jar over after 5+ hours to allow mixture to soak through all the pads. And viola! You’re done.
