Postpartum after the second kid is crazy! I remember having my front baby hairs stick up for the longest time and the only way to tame it would be my favorite Not Your Mother's texturing balm. I try to stay away from heat styling tools to a minimum by either using it at the lowest setting or to limit using them to once a week.
Living in Hawaii, the heat and humidity of Hawai'i is tempered by the constant trade winds that are stronger during the summer and weaker through winter months. Besides the sun and the salty air, we are gifted with tanned bodies, but maintaining that summer year-round fit body and luscious long Hawaiian hula hair, we give them a little extra tlc.
People think I'm crazy for washing my hair once a week especially if I sweat like a pig at the gym three times a week. I know, gross. Dry shampoo has become my jam to tame this mane. See below on my all natural hair mask that I do once a month to give these locks a boost of shine and fresh air. See below for my step by step process.

Gather all your ingredients: 1/4 cup organic coconut oil, 1 whole avocado, and 2 small apple bananas (or 1 large one will do).

Health Benefits: Coconut Oil - My grandma has been using coconut oil on my hair since I was in elementary. The looks of greasy hair in school was not cool and granted gave me a lot of eye stares and laughs, but who knew? Coconut oil stimulates hair growth, promotes the scalp health fighting against lice and dandruff, and adds luster, shine and softness to the hair including prevention of hair breakage and split ends, contributing to hair length. Avocado - Is rich in amino acids and vitamins which helps rejuvenate and moisturize the scalp and promotes long, strong, hair growth. Apple bananas - Is rich in potassium, natural oils, and vitamins, which helps prevent split ends and breakage and restores its natural shine.

Remove seed from avocado as well as skin. You have the option to mash all ingredients by hand or blend them. Honestly, blending is quicker!

Slather all ingredients in your hair and use a wide tooth comb to make sure all product is on every strand.
Leave in a bun or wrap with a shower cap for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Wash with shampoo two times and condition two times. Wash conditioner with cold tap water once completed and then air dry.

Sorry! this is the mess you will be left with.
